Content

The programme is run by one of Illumine’s de Bono certified trainers. The 10 simple DATT thinking strategies will enable you to direct your thinking energy in a powerful, managed approach to get pertinent information and take appropriate action. The ten tools covered are:

  • Consequences and sequels – look ahead to see the consequences of actions, plans, decisions or rules
  • Plus, minus and interesting – ensure that all sides of a matter have been considered before a decision is made
  • Recognise, analyse and divide – break a larger concept into smaller, more manageable parts
  • Consider all factors – explore all factors related to an action, decision or plan
  • Aims, goals and objectives – focus directly and deliberately on the intention behind actions
  • Alternatives, possibilities and choices – deliberately try to find alternatives
  • Other people’s views – review, evaluate and consider
  • Key values involved – ensure that out-thinking serves your values
  • First important priorities – select the most important idea factors and objectives
  • Design, decisions, outcome, channels, and action – direct attention to the thinking and action that follows
